My friends instruct me to keep my eyes closed. where will they have taken me? when they finally let me open my eyes, i find myself in a room decorated only with pink and blue balloons. in front of me, a mountain of gifts and cakes. what kind of joke is this?"congratulations on your pregnancy!"???????i am dumbfounded. they held a baby shower for me, thinking i was pregnant... but i'm just fat! my belly is swollen and prominent from the dinner at the mexican restaurant the night before but looking at the amount of gifts they gave me, i decide to play along: yes, i am pregnant! look at my baby bump! touch it, if you will! i touch my fat belly pretending to have a baby (or more than one!) inside, stroking it, massaging it, showing it off in every way! i answer their questions about my pregnancy with uncertainty, until a loud gurgle of hunger starts from my belly... oops!
