LIPSTICK TESTER

Description: Believe it or not, a job was called a "lipstick tester" in the 1950s. can you imagine? a man's whole job was to sit there and... get kissed! now, this wasn't some weird dating service. these kisses were for science (of a sort). the lipstick testers were there to see how well different lipsticks stayed on.   they'd get a fresh coat, and then women would be brought in to peck their heads and faces. now, this method might seem a bit... unconventional, to say the least. but it does show us something interesting: marketing and how we test products change over time. back then, a kiss was the best way they knew to see if lipstick lasted. .
