Why it took so long to start?

Description: Today is a beautiful day, and i'm going to pick up my friend from her house so we can have a picnic at the beach. it's been a while since i last started my car, about a month. when i try to start it, it seems like it’s broken, not showing any signs of life—the engine coughs but won’t start. i start to get slightly desperate because it seems like it’s not going to start. my friend is waiting for me... what now? i decide to keep trying; it seems like it wants to start, but then it stalls again. it feels like it’s teasing me... after long minutes and many attempts, i finally get it running and drive to my friend's house, hoping the car makes it there without any problems.
