Description: Nurse nicky is completing her er shift at the hospital, and none to soon. she arrives at nurse betsy's work area because she is not feeling well. she is exhibiting palpitations and is very tired. nurses betsy and edina start to examine her, checking her bp and prepping her for an ecg exam. they give her o2 as well. when all the leads have been placed on her chest, the ecg starts and edina realizes immediately nicky has atrial fibrillation. nurse nicky immediately understands the seriousness of her condition and they stars to prep her for a synchronized cardioversion while nurse edina places the aed pads onto her chest. nicky start to feeling light-headed. when she is completely relaxed nurse edina sets up the defibrillator. following the first round nicky reacts with discomfort but there is no immediate effect, and she is still fibrillating. they continue the treatment with more aed shocks, and steth nicky as well. when nicky's heart unexpectedly starts to vfib they begin cpr on her with ambu bagging. edina removes the aed pads and charges the manual defibrillator. they use a lot of gel... nicky's heart flatlines following the first round. edina and betsy perform cpr and ambu bagging along with more and more rounds of defibrillation. finally her pulse returns to normal rhythm. this clip features realistic defibrillations, and deep, strong chest compressions for cpr and defib fans!
