Description: Custom clip: i’m sitting at a table with my hands resting calmly in front of me. my hair is slicked back and still wet-looking, like i’ve used a heavy mist of hairspray. my nails have a faint, glossy clear polish, super minimal but noticeable. as i begin to speak, my voice is totally congested and nasal thick with pressure and snot: “hehllo… thagks for joiding be.” early on, i turn to the side to grab a tissue the box isn’t visible at first, but after i pull one out, it stays on the table beside me with a tissue always sticking out, like it’s just waiting for me. i sneeze into my hand, turn to reach for the tissue, and the scene cuts to me blowing my nose with the box now clearly in frame. from then on, i keep pausing to sneeze, sniffle, or blow my nose always covering up with a tissue, always staying polite and composed. i try to keep the conversation going, but the congestion keeps messing with how i speak. my words come out all stuffed up: “kleedex” instead of “kleenex,” “sdots,” “bore,” “so buch bucus.” in between nose blows, i mumble things like: • “sorry… it’s sdot thig agaid…” • “i cad’t believe how stuffy i ab…” the whole vibe is me trying to keep it together while clearly overwhelmed by a super runny nose and constant congestion.
