Description: Flora is... an experience. if you saw her on the street, you’d probably assume she’s the antagonist in a tim burton movie. she’s goth from head to toe— tattoos everywhere. piercings like she’s collecting them for a side quest. the kind of girl who drinks black coffee and would probably critique your soul if you asked her zodiac sign. but plot twist: she’s also one of the kindest, most thoughtful people i’ve ever met. just don’t tell anyone. it’d ruin her spooky reputation. anyway, flora is also a beast. she’s a ballet dancer (and not the “i did a class once when i was six” type—like, she can levitate), a skater who can drop in like a pro, and oh yeah, she does kickboxing for fun. when flora learned about my affinity for tickling, she told me this: “my exes used to try and tickle me, but i’m good at holding it in. like, stone cold. they’d give up because they thought i wasn’t ticklish.” naturally, i took that as a challenge. “bet i could make you crack.” she raises an eyebrow, smirks (which, on a goth girl, is basically a threat), and says, “try your best.” now listen. i knew i was risking life and limb here. but i was committed. for science. for pride. for the honor of all who’ve tickled and failed. that's how we got to flora sitting in my studio. stocked and toe-tied. as it turns out she was pretty excited about doing a tickling video. she loves new and weird things, this checked both those on her goth bucket list. i start off slow, testing out all my tools to see what gets a reaction out of her. the initial test results are positive. i can tell flora is trying her little trick of holding in her laughter. but i'm patient and persistent. it's only a matter of time! it's always satisfying when a stubborn ticklee reaches the point that they just can't hold it in any longer, and that's what flora does! laughing, shaking, the look of disbelief that she's so ticklish. victory. i, a mere mortal with zero tattoos and questionable upper body strength, brought down the great and mighty flora with nothing but tickles and dumb persistence. she’s since threatened revenge. i live in fear. but i’ll always have this moment. tough goth girl: 0me and my tickle tools: 1
